AllerAir Air Purifiers with Germicidal UV was chosen, because of the Air Cleaners being on the High-End of Air Purifiers on the market that is effective to clean the air of viruses, bacteria, particles, microorganisms, chemicals, and odors.
AllerAir Air Purifiers used for Viruses & Bacteria feature Super HEPA filters, which unlike Traditional HEPA can filter microorganisms at 0.125 Micron. The Air Cleaners were also equipped with Germicidal UV, which kills Viruses and Bacteria that is airborne.
In a Medical environment where an Aerosol-generating procedure is done, the droplets become Aerosolized particles, where the droplets become like a very fine mist and are in the air for a longer period of time.
AllerAir Air Purifiers have not been tested for the removal of the new Coronavirus yet, as it is a new strain that was discovered in 2019.

How To Avoid Coronavirus
At the moment there is currently no vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. The best way to stay safe is to follow the recommendations from the CDC
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
- Wash hands often
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
How the AirMedic Pro Air Purifier Works to Kill Airborne Viruses & Bacteria
In order to properly filter airborne viruses and or Bacteria such as the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), An Air Purifier would need to filter smaller micron particles/microorganisms from the air.
The size of the Coronavirus is 0.125 micron in size. Only An Air Purifier with Super HEPA can filter 0.125 microns.
Note: Air Purifiers with Traditional HEPA filter can only filter down to .3 Micron.

How Does UV work?
The electromagnetic radiation of UV light works with wavelengths that are shorter than visible light to disrupt bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms.
The UV lamps designed to kill germs in portable air purifiers typically consist of low-pressure mercury vapor lamps with a UV radiation wavelength of 263.7 nanometers. At this wavelength, biological contaminants cannot survive prolonged exposure to UV light. At the right exposure, the ultraviolet rays penetrate a cell’s outer structure and alter its DNA, causing cell death. The air must be moving past the lamp so that the UV can work. Sometimes, multiple passes of air may be required. UV is not effective for some bacterial and mold spores that have become resistant. It doesn’t promise to trap airborne particles like a HEPA filter or to remove airborne chemicals by way of adsorption like an activated carbon filter. A UV filter is designed to neutralize biological organisms passing through the ultraviolet rays by altering the DNA of bacteria, viruses, and mold spores and inhibit reproduction.
