The HealthMate Plus was introduced by Austin Air soon after the HealthMate, to address the unique air quality needs of those suffering from severe or multiple chemical sensitivities. By adding potassium iodide to the carbon blend already used in the HealthMate, the HealthMate Plus captures even more chemicals and odors.

The 15-lb carbon filter of the Austin Air HealthMate Plus is the main defense against all forms of chemicals such as formaldehyde, benzene, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). With a mixture of natural zeolite, this air filter can handle more than 3000 forms of poisonous gasses and odors.

With a 60-sq-ft Medical-grade True HEPA filter, it is still the best air filter with the most filter media available. It helps Austin Air HealthMate Plus capture tiny particles much more easily, and even pollutants can be trapped to 0.1 microns in real-world use.
